Our story
High school students that had never worn pads until last Spring. A 46-year old car mechanic who drives down from Tallinn for practice every Sunday. A Turkish, a Mexican, an American, and a roster of Estonians and other foreigners that found the only American football club in the country and committed. Sixteen-year-olds and forty-year-olds on the same field.
Nobody from the Titans gets paid. Every player puts in €40 a month for the right to practice through a Tartu winter. The field for practices and games, the officials, the bus rides to away games: the players cover it.
Last November Tartu Titans beat Kaunas Dukes 40-6 @ Kaunas, Lithuania in the Baltic Bowl and brought the title home to Tartu. This season we are 4-0 and winners of the regular season. For the 1st time ever, Estonia has the right to host the final - the Baltic Bowl! The semifinal is at Holm Park on September 26th @ 14:00. The final is on October 10th @ 14:00.
